Borgo Paglianetto is a village of ancient farmhouses and hillside vineyards locals have brought together to form a new winery that highlights natural viticulture. The winery is located in the Matelica growing area of the Marche region, where the high-acid Verdicchio variety reigns supreme. Terravignata is textbook Matelica: green apples and tangerines, framed by savoury botanical herbs. Ergon ferments with native yeasts, giving a subtle wine that shows muted stone fruits, botanical herbs, and a tapering saline finish. The top wine, Vertis, is from an old, high-altitude vineyard that produces a more structured wine, with notes of botanicals herbs and perfectly ripe tangerines.
